This honing stone (or, oil-stone) is used in conjunction with the bit sharpener to clean burrs from the outer edge of the bit when sharpening.

Recommend using "Drill-Ease  /Drill bit wax" to help during bit sharpening process. This honing stone is designed for use specifically with with the Ideal-MBM 25 and 55 drill bit sharpener.
